We Celebrate the Launch of the Joe Burrow Foundation

October 11, 2022 by Jean Marie Cackowski

Joe Burrow Foundation Logo

The Athens County Food Pantry applauds Joe Burrow’s continued focus on food insecurity. We have no doubt that this new foundation will bring a strong voice and impressive resources to our joint goal to reduce and eliminate hunger and food insecurity regionally and beyond.

As announced by the Cincinnati Bengals, the Joe Burrow Nonprofit Foundation will help meet the needs of families who are working to overcome food insecurity and childhood mental health issues. The Joe Burrow Foundation will provide resources and support to the underprivileged and underserved in Ohio and Louisiana.

Karin Bright, ACFP President, said “This new foundation is a welcome ally, increasing the many hearts, hands, and generosity of those who are committed to fighting hunger and food insecurity.”

About:

The ACFP has been serving Athens County since 1980, delivering aid in the form of direct food distribution. An all-volunteer nonprofit organization, the pantry’s dedicated team works to ensure that food is always available for those in need. Following an influx of donations after Joe Burrow’s Heisman Trophy speech, the ACFP has been able to serve in more communities and support select efforts to fight hunger and food insecurity regionally. The influx has additionally allowed the creation of a permanent endowment fund, housed at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, that will strengthen the pantry’s mission in perpetuity.
