Want to fight hunger and food insecurity in Athens County? Concerned about your neighbors going hungry? The Athens County Food Pantry has been supplying food to Athens County residents in need for over 35 years. We are urgently seeking volunteers to be the “face of the food pantry” to distribute food or to greet and register qualifying community members.
We need volunteers who are able to regularly work at least one three hour shift between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays or Thursdays, and who are able to get to our main distribution site at the Athens Jobs and Family Services complex. We can work with you, so your schedule can be flexible. You will enjoy time spent with a caring group of people giving back in a safe environment!
Want to help, but can’t commit to shifts? We have a few volunteer jobs, such as writing Thank You notes, that can be done on an “as needed” basis. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 740-590-7051.
